In Luderitz, Namibia, the
dominant building is a church called the Felsenkirche, perched
on top of a little rocky outcrop above the
town. It was built in 1912 and contains a magnificent
stained glass window donated by Kaiser Wilhelm II. Keith Alexander
took the stained glass window and painted the church as a
ruin in the midst of desolation.
The quiet but powerful sunset behind the crumbling building
serves to highlight the
spiritual beauty of the remaining window, illustrating perhaps
that God survives
when the works of Man lie in ruins? .
